I would like both to be able to record pics of video games I play on my television and to record them in a video type format so that I can display still and moving images on web pages. Would a dvd burner hooked up to my t.v. and various video game systems get the job done?

Thanks to all thoughtfull replies.

The DVD burner would probably work, or you could buy a TV tuner card and hook your video games up directly to the computer and record them directly to the computer while you play them. Most TV tuner cards will allow you to record TV, so they will record your video games just the same.

Hauppauge makes a line of very good tuner cards: http://www.hauppauge.com/

Here's a great little program I have used for years and it's free:
