my dad got me a computer. soo it has a wireless internet thing. soo i dunno how to hook it up with the computer getting access from the computer im using now which is in a 17meter area of the new computer plz help

Your PC will need wireless adapter in order to communicate wirelessly (could be you already have it build in (wireless card) if its laptop). If its not laptop most likely you will have to additionally purchase one. To see are you have it already, go to Control Panel >> Network Connection and see do you have some icon which is called “Wireless…” (eventually some wireless device listed in Control Panel itself). If you have one all you have to do is enable it (right click menu)), and once done additional icon showing blinking computer screen should show on taskbar. Once it show right click it and select “View Available Wireless Networks”, select dad’s network from list, fill encryption key (if he uses encryption) and click connect. It also could be that wireless card has its own managing tool, which most l likely will also show on taskbar when enabled. Generally connection can be established with it’s help as well, however options will vary between cards brands and models.

be more specific do you have a wireless router? what type?r u you to use a wireless adapter are built wireless have you set up a network?
