Considering the fact that I live in a area where the that particular name popular I'm used to hearing it. It's either LaTonya, LaToya, LaKeisha, LaQuishia, etc. La seems to go in front of a lot of African American names lately. I've even hear and scene a few latino or white girls with that name. It's rare but it happens. To me it sounds typical. If your happy with it do what ya gotta do. I personally get tired of names myself. I don't knock people with those names. I've dated two chicks named Latoya. Hell my new love interest her name is Latisha. Seriously children with names like that face problem with getting jobs when they become adults. Automatically they will know this person is black. Dead give away. I'm not saying that's a reason not to name your kid that. Try to name your child something they won't get teased for, hard to pronounce or draws attention. People have been saying my name wrong all my life. I'm always telling people how to say correctly. When naming your child give it some thought.

I personally dont think i am fond of this name and would never call a baby this name, but if you like it, thats your choice.
Personally I would consider re-spelling it

LaKisha

LaQueisha

LaKicia

LaQueysha

LaKeysha

quiche

A rich unsweetened custard pie, often containing ingredients such as vegetables, cheese, or seafood.

Sounds like an item on the menu, like Quiche Lorraine....

Also, avoid the nickname Squishy, which is going to come up....

I don't care for the name. But this your baby and when it comes to the end you are the one that makes the final decision.

It sounds like either a Latin America-inspired budget family hotel chain or a line of heat-and-eat ham and egg pastries.

What does the name mean?? and would you have liked to be named that if your parents chose it for you? You have to put urself in your child's place. You don't want your kid to hate his/her name while growing up. You don't want other kids to make fun at them while they are in school.
There are so many places where you can find names and meanings for your baby...

If I were the baby, I'd be reeeeeallllllly mad at you for naming me something that reminds me of how a sponge should sound when you wring it out.

Horrible. It is extremely ghetto and it sounds like "Squish." I can tell you that an employer will pass right by a person with a name like that. Choose a name that will look good on a college or job application. How about Lenora or Shannon?

It depends on her ethnicity - it would better suit a black or mexican. But for some reason it reminds me of a squid, although, the name does sound pretty.

Sounds like food. Why don't you pick a name that actually means something? For instance Zuri means pretty in Swahili.
