why do we need charity events to keep children from poverty in the uk.?

i pay over 1000 pounds in tax every month and billions of pound are genarated every year from us and our goverments are giving it to crazy dictators to toture people . waste loads of money on stuff like the dome . why cant we do anything about it?

You have just said exactly what I feel. We can't do anything about it because the people of this country would rather beleive the endless drivel of lies that comes out of a certain PM's mouth than look around, see with their own two eyes and vote accordingly. The blatant waste of taxpayers money on perks for MPs alone could go a long way to combating true poverty for the poorest families in the u.k. In this day and age we should not have a single child in the U.K go hungry or without a roof over it's head before money is dished out to 'whereveristan' for whatever project the dictator of that country claims it needs the cash for....... it really makes my blood boil.

I agree with you it is an outrage.
It is government avoiding its responsibility and its duty of care. I am sick of pleads for money through the mail, on TV and on the high street that is embarrassing if you do not give.
Not one of these politicians would get out of bed if they were not paid, but want everyone else to commit their time for free.
As usual JOE public pay and pay again.
Charities should be banned and the government take responsibility and use the (OUR) taxpayers money to support our children and the old.

Good question. Why do so many rely on charity that should be funded by the goverment. Charity to build childrens hospitals, Charity for the old people, charity for hospital equipment. It's scandalous.

There is enough money is the UK's government coffers to prevent any kid in this country from having to live in poverty,,so why doesn't her Majesty put her hand into her very deep pockets and sort this problem out,,the rich just get richer and the poor kids get sweet FA

i think the goverment need to keep people in poverty so there will be less educated people so there is more social disorder . if there was no poverty then there will be no one exploiting it.
