Crime is found in any city any country....so if you are going to stay in Kingston or Montego Bay....be as careful there as you would in NYC or Chicago. And don't be stupid.....They are the best sales people in the world and can talk you into anything if you are gullible enough.....so you need to use your best judgment and don't be talked into anything you really don't want.

As far as safety......the worst thing is the driving....crazy drivers down there. So if you get a car....watch out.....

Don't know where u are staying....but resorts are safe.

Have fun and just use your head.

We were there in July and had absolutely no problems. We were at a resort mostly (which was VERY safe) but did get amongst the Jamaican people on a few occasions. Relax and have a great trip. It is a truly lush and beautiful country. However, it is also a country in dire poverty. So don't be stupid when you go.

We went in March this year to Negril . It was the most fantastic time my wife and I have ever had . I would stay away from the concrete jungle [big cities] but Jamaica is Great .
