Use lotion that has a lot of fragrance to it. The constant use of lotion will help your nail grow, and it will taste very bitter and deter you from biting.

I have bitten my nails since I was 2 years old! It is not a problem that is easily solved. I mostly bite when I am stressed (all the time) but have grown nails for 5 years at one time. The only thing I have found that has worked absolutely is having my nails done professionally. I keep my own nails covered with an acrylic overlay and began with a full set of acrylic white tips. It is a little on the costly side, but 1) I am worth it and 2) it looks a heck of a lot better than the old chewed up stumps I used to hide. I have to adjust my budget to accomodate this habit, but as I said, it is healthier and necessary. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for. Nana

Changing babies' diapers is one good cure. Dentures aren't very effective for biting your nails. Short of anything that drastic, drugstores have nasty tasting stuff that you paint on your nails. That way, you won't unconciously bite your nails while you're reading or watching TV. Keeping your nails polished and free of rough edges will also help. Wear rubber gloves when you must have your hands in water (dishes, etc.) That will keep your nails from growing soft in sudsy water. Good luck!

Just keep reminding yourself that they won't grow if you keep bitting them. Also at drug stores (usually in the baby section) they have a product that you paint on your nails and it has a bitter taste. That way everytime you go to bite your nails it tastes horrible. Good luck :)

an uncomplicated way i've got consistently heard is equivalent to the different solutions, yet maybe somewhat extra value-effective. All you could desire to do is upload in basic terms somewhat of vinegar on your nail polish. it is going to likely be a terrible flavor, so it is going to make you supply up biting. i've got had the subject for an prolonged time too, i think of I ought to take my own advice. lol. good success!

Start getting manicures weekly. If your nails look good you won't want to mess them up. You could even get together with some friends once a week and give each other manicures, since going to a salon weekly may get pricey.

I suggest cutting them really short.
Since you like long nails, you should just buy some fake fingernails and you can glue them on.

I have a friend that's 16 and still sucks her thumb. It's sad, I know.

You can put spikes on ur nails, or really nasty tasting nail polish....or u can find out whats REALLY underneath ur nails...trust me, its so gross u'll never want to bite them again...
