1. Turn your big shirt inside-out.
2. Lay a shirt that fits you well on top of it.
3. Pin the outline of the fitted shirt on the big one.
4. You WILL have to adjust the sleeves, because the seams have now moved.

I hope I helped!

I would cut the sides and then sew them back together, just an inch or so smaller to make it tighter. Then you can leave the sleeves loose and just cut a slit in the top of each one for a butterfly-sleeve effect. That would look nice. You could also do other things like cut the collar or neckline away so there's a scoopneck. You could cut slashes in the shirt (nowhere revealing) and use safety pins to loosely hold it together for a punk-ish look. Be creative!

Try cutting the shirt along the sides to make it smaller. Then make holes on both sides that you cut and use the material that you cut and use it to lace the sides closed or even use big saftey pins. You can cut off the sleaves too and make it into a v-neck or a scoop neck. Good luck. :)

Put it in a washer machine with a lot of washing detergent. And put it in the dryer and it should shrink.
