I'm assuming DR = Dominican Republic. In that case, they're totally different, you can't compare.
You can compare Jamaican with Trini or Guyana (or any other WI foods). DR can compare with Cuban or Puertorrican food.
The spices used (for example; curry, allspice, jerk, etc) are totally different; not found on spanish speaking islands like Cuba, DR & PR. It gives the food a totally different flavor/spice.

I love Jamaican food especially jerk chicken and pork. One thing about the Jamaicans is that they really know how to cook when it comes to preparing food they do not play.

Good Jamaican food is great. I have never eaten Dominican food. People shouldn't abbreviate so much.
