Where the hell did he go?! What did he bring back while he was away. Did he get some interstellar bootaaaaaaaaay (last question just a joke geeks!)

Ok. Im a comic geek and I love a great portion of comic book telefilms and motion pictures. But could someone please inform me why Warner Bros. wasted almost $200 million on a peice of junk like Superman returns. I was one of the few not looking for a "Smallville" take on Superman as a film but c'mon. The storyline was way too dramatic, and the casting was shallow and somewhat murkey. Maybe the DVD will provide some answers the film didnt or couldn't.

In the novelization of the movie by Marv Wolfman, Clark Kent read that astronomers had discovered what looked like a planet in the area of space where Krypton was.

He went to check it out for himself, and because his little craft did not have warp or hyperspace capabilities, it took him 5 years for the entire trip.

It would be a good idea for you to pick up the 4 prequel comics (probably in TPB now). They fill in some of the missing information between Superman The Movie, Superman 2 and then Superman Returns.

Don't expect the movies to match up with regular comic book continuity or even Smallville continuity, otherwise you will be disappointed. The movies have their own continuity, and this one doesn't even acknowledge Superman 3 & 4. One thing that Bryan Singer did really well was to get Richard Donner's blessing before taking the directing job of Superman Returns.

Bryan Singer totally mess up the Superman storyline.
1) New costume = sequel not prequel. So what happen to his new costume in III and IV? Set the movie after IV not II.
2) No small cell phone or desktop computers in the 80s because they don't exist. They used typewriters not computers.
3) Plot lame.
4) No need to said that Superman has a son and Lois is married to Richard White because no mention of that in III and IV.
5) Singer is stupid and a dumbass.

with Reeves injures and his death it put a huge shadow on the superman movies. He was a great superman, to a lot of people do not think another actor could not play superman as well, at least wile Reeves was still alive.

and why not superman returns batman did.
I am a huge fan of superman, when I was younger he was my hero. I want to see the movie so bad.

and I welcome a new superman.

He went to channel the spirit of Christopher Reeve(R.I.P.), and came back empty-handed! Superman Returns is everythig wrong with Hollywood today.
