I'm writing a paper about adult cartoons. I'm going to analyze a clip from The Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park. I need to find a clip from each show that is similar so I can show a representational trend...a pattern that shows how they're similar (besides their low-grade animation techniques and adult content/humor/language). I need help with this ASAP, I am open to any and all sugestions!

You should just focus on the main themes from each of the shows. They're all satires of life and literature.

In a The Simpsons "Treehouse of Horror VII" segment, "The Genesis Tub" Lisa creates a tiny society of little people.

In a South Park episode entitled "The Simpsons Did It" Cartman creates a society of sea monkeys.

Sorry, I can't think of one for Family Guy, but here's one for Futurama:

In a Futurama episode entitled "Godfellas" Bender drifts through space and collides with a rock wich contains a tiny society of little people that live on him.

In all three shows the main character is seen as the society's god.

There have been episodes of South Park and Family Guy where they spoofed each other as well as The Simpsons. That about the most similarity that you are going to get out of 3 different cartoons. But one thing that comes to mind is the race issue. There was a simpsons episode where they made mention of poor people and referring to them as "Yellow Trash" (which was their version of white trash) but all 3 cartoons often push the race issue to the edge.

what about doing something on the portrayal of seniors or sexuality or parenting styles.

You can easily pick one of those themes and tease out scenes from each of those shows.

They all slap and/or kill others. They all have strange voices. Not all of them have letters in common. They all have short names, and not outrageously long ones. They all have some kind of pet. They all have a theme song. They all involve adults not caring. They are all funny.

look up each series on tv.com, then look over the episode summaries and find the ones that are similar.
