No, and Thank God! I live in California, which passed a Three Strikes and You're Out in 1994. At the time, California was going through a violent crime wave in which young people were committing car jackings and people like Polly Klaas were getting taken from their homes. We passed it, thinking it would be used to take violent offenders off the streets. The DAs are using it against violent offenders - and petty thieves, too. There have been several high profile cases in which people who steal $150 worth of golf clubs or a slive of pizza or some video tapes have been sent to prison for 25 to life. Ridiculous!
California is the only state in which the third strike doesn't have to be violent. In some cases, DAs can turn a misdemeanor theft into a felony theft, making it 25 to life. Washington was the first state to have three strikes, only it uses it rarely and only in the case of violent third felonies.

No, they do not, in fact I think most states do not have this law, although I know California has the very controversial law.

I don't think so although I feel they should, they should also do a one strike law for the child molestors and the child predators.
