Either by taking a piece of the Jeans {make sure they are not touching your body} and then take a lighter and {I know this sounds crazy} but set them on fire only for about 15 seconds, and then bash it out with your hand {don't worry it doesn't hurt}. If your prefer to not do the pyromaniacs way, then take a pair scissors, or a knife,or a razor blade and while you are wear the pants, applying some pressure rub it over from right to left many times until the pants start to rip. i hope this helps! :}

Spread out your jeans on a flat surface. Use scissors to cut a small hole where you want the rip. Then, using your fingers, rip the hole to the size you want. Next pour a little bit (be careful here!) of bleach onto some sandpaper. Sand around the rip and the hem and waistline of the jeans (this will make them look worn). Add a few bleach splatters on the jeans if you want. Next, wash the jeans in cold water. Dry. Voila! Destructed jeans, without having to pay.

If you want the distressed look I would just pick a spot on the thigh and take a razor blade or sharp knife and GENTLY swipe in that spot then rub your sand paper over it a little. Then after you get the hang of it do a different spot on the other leg maybe closer to the knee or something. Then wash them to get the fray going. I did this to my jeans back in the early nineties when it was popular. It is easy- you can't mess up, I promise!

rub the want to be ripped parts on sand paper and wear them while doing some hard work. Wear them and crawl across the ground to make them look worn and for some minor touches, sizzors.

Back in the 80's(when that look was in), we used to use bleach, box cutters, sandpaper and a lot of washings to get our jeans to have the worn out look.

Or you could head to the GoodWill and buy a pair to practice on before you screw up the new ones.

I did my first pair and everyone loved them! they kept asking where i bought them! but hey, i made them! just take scissors and cut lines...i do one at a time...after you make a cut just start pulling the little strings out and it'll start to look cool! it takes time and patience! once im finished i usually rip them alittle more with my hands to make them wider! the more you wear them and wash them they look better and more torn! good luck! you dont need sand paper or razors...just scissors and your hands!!!

What i did was put the jeans on, drew a line where my knee was and took off the jeans. then i cut the line with sissors. then i washed them to make 'em fray. finally i rubbed them on the side walk to make it have that natural look. now i have "natural" holes in my fave fair of jeans!!!!

take a pair of scissors, open them, and carefully scrape away the denim. make sure you're not wearing them, but mark the areas you want to rip them at, so that it doesn't look skanky. don't cut them open (looks stupid).
have fun.

Did you want them ripped like where the knees are or did you just want the bottoms frayed?
