Osama bin Laden whispered this secret to you didn't he? Didn't he?!?! If the GOP "put him down" then I will never vote for another Republican for as long as I live. That is of course if your idea turns out not to be a baldfaced lie. Which it is by the way.

There aren't any Reps that are "upset" with Bush. They just know that the public is, and they're afraid their re-election chances will be hurt by Bush.

He doesn't have much power anymore. He will just serve out his remaining 2 years and disappear into the dust bin of history as America's worst president. Then we will have a terrible time trying to recover from all of the damage his administration did to this country: a hopeless war based on a lie, the biggest deficit in history, a flood of illegal immigrants, global warming, etc.

Probably not. To do so would tend to make them look guilty or incompetent by association. More likely they will try to distance themselves from his policies, revert to making 'motherhood' statements about values and avoid dealing with specifics. They might also start thinking about alternative employment.
