Forest, "I want to go home" is so sad and probally depicts many young soldiers during most wars. Bubba just breaks my heart!
John Coffey, the black character (MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN)
is such a powerful actor in this role. He is a savior, a neglected soul............
I'd say Bubba would break the hearts of many and instill the pain and sorrow of the misshapen more so than John Coffey.

The Green Mile was better. The "Big Black Guy" is named John Coffey, like the drink but with a y.
The book was better than the movie though.

Michael Clarke Duncan as John Coffey or Tom Hanks as Forest Gump. I think Michael Clarke Duncan. Gump was touching and kind of a care free character who met presidents and helped friends. Coffey was childlike but knew what violence was around him. The violence in the execution scenes far out way the sweetness of Forest Gump. Both movies spoke of Jesus and redemption.

The guy from The Green Mile, for sure. He saved people and he cried. and the lip thing with Bubba was too much.

i am impressed by the performance of both actors in those roles. but i was much more moved by the guy in the green mile. his role made me have goose bumps and all teary eyed at some parts. and further roles that he played in other movie were fantastic. as for bubba, his role made me cry too...what portrayal of a soldier dying in any war wouldn't. so i think it was more circumstantial that his character gripped me, not in his acting or the role itself...the Vietnam war was a scary thing, and many people died, so that great of a depiction will bring tears to anyone's eyes (especially when you know the feelings, my dad is a viet vet.) so it is a tough call all and all, but i do like the green mile performance much better. by the way nice comparison of two tom hanks movies!

They were both heart warming characters by far but I would also have to say the man from Green Mile, "Michael Clarke Duncan" and Bubba's actual name is "Mykelti Williamson."

Thats a properly wide-unfold delusion. Its observed as the "magical n.egro" and is ordinary in hollywood the place a black guy is portayed as a sensible, very nearly legendary discern. they are portrayed as angeles, god, and mentors of a white hero. Morgan Freeman normally takes on the functionality. Google "Magical n.egro" BTW, Obama is a paranormal n.egro. Obamaniacs are being performed by the media like a piano.

Bubba Gump is sweet--but not talented.
John Coffey is one of the best literary characters EVER!
