Every year you can get a free copy of your credit report from all three credit agencies. That will tell you what accounts are open in your name. If you have no intention of opening any other accounts in the near future or having your credit run to get a job or rent an apartment then you can actually freeze your credit through the agencies and unfreeze when you need to do something. So, if your credit is frozen, even if someone had your information they could not open an account in your name.

There are several warning signs that credit fraud may be occurring:
* Your credit report contains inquiries or information about accounts that you did not open
* Strange charges show up on billing statements
* Bills arrive from unknown or unfamiliar sources
* You receive calls from creditors or collection agencies

If someone wants to steal your identity only to put money in your name in bank accounts, you dont really have a problem do you???? You would like to look at your credit report and see if there are any credit cards or loans that your dont know about, also any addresses listed that are not yours.
