If you calculate it out, and if you're talking about weighted GPA, then yes it will. If you're talking about unweighted, it'll basically stay the same (you'll have a 3.0 unweighted)

Do the math. Run the numbers for your grades. In most schools A=4, B=3, etc. but with AP stuff your situation might be different. Find out what each grade is worth. (The number value assigned to it.) Then run the numbers. Add up all the number values and divide by the number of classes. For the classes you are currently taking plug in the value of the grade you think you will get. If that doesn't put you over a 3.0 plug in the next higher grade to determine how much better you need to do. Also, keep in mind that a college might accept you conditionally provided that you earn/maintain the 3.0 at time of graduation. Whatever happens, APPLY. Worst they can say is no. Good luck.

Your GPA is an average of all the classes that you have taken. If you take classes where you get a score higher than your current GPA, it will go up, but since it is an average, each new class will have less of a total effect on the whole GPA. You can figure out what your new GPA will be simply by averaging the grades you hope to get with all the grades you've earned in previous classes.

And, by the way, there are many colleges you can get into with a less-than-ideal high-school GPA. Community colleges will often allow you to enroll even without a high-school diploma.

It depends if your GPA is calculated using a weighted method or not. Unweighted GPA's are calculated as follows: A=4.0 B=3.0 C=2.0 D=1.0. You assign one of these numbers to each class, and then take the average. By this method, you current year unweighted GPA is 3.0 If they weight classes based on honors or AP, it will be higher than this. In any case, it should go up. However, there is no way to tell if it will jump to 3.0 or not without more information.

Unless your APs/honors are weighted stronger than other courses, no your GPA will most likely decrease.
