Are there any other family members around? A good friend? Fall in with their family for the holiday. What about a good neighbor?

Couldn't you at least go and be with the in laws for Christmas Day and go back home the next day??
Hope you find something to do it help you to not feel lonely. Volunteering in a hospital is a nice idea.

Go to Church on Christmas eve and then turn the channel to the PBS station for good Christmas music. Sometimes, the high school and local college choirs have their performances prerecorded and played on tv Christmas morning.

I also think that volunteering at a homeless shelter is a neat idea. Helping people that are less fortunate will more than make up for the lonely holiday and is something that Jesus, if he were on earth, would do on Christmas.

Instead of being alone and glum, why not volunteer to deliver Christmas dinner to the elderly who can't go out because they're physically impaired?
You may not beleive it but somebody somewhere might have it worse than you. YOU can be the one who brightens somebody's day. Good luck.

The volunteer suggestions are great. Do not know your mobility. Maybe go someplace you've never been. It could be London, England or London, Ontario or Ontario, California. There is much to do anywhere and there are homeless who need help everywhere even if you are on vacation.

well i spend the holidays by myself alot of the time...but if u have some good friends then u could go visit. ya know, bring them a holiday treat or u could go volunteer at a soup kitchen. it would mean alot to alot of ppl! it gives u a sense of purpose even tho u are alone.

Rent some movies, read a book, treat yourself to something you wouldn't normally do (make yourself a special meal - or order out if possible, or take a long, hot bath).

I agree with the homeless shelter idea. Inquire with human services in the county that you live in or your church as to where you could volunteer. Or...don't invite yourself, but maybe see what your neighbors or friends are doing for Christmas??

Go help others. Volunteer at a shelter and help those less fortunate. I was alone this Thanksgiving and that's what I did and I found it a very rewarding experience

Watch some of your favorite movies and fix a meal that you alone can eat that you don't fix for yourself very often.
