I'm asking because I recently heard about the ZUNE and wanted to know if it was any better than an Ipod. But now I want to know what mp3 player you guys think is best.

I have a microsoft OS
I would use it mainly for music.( not SUPER intrested in movies or pics.)
I am kinda intrested in games.
I want something that won't break easily.
Does anyone know what mp3 player Pam from The Office got???
If so what do you think about it?

Please and thankyou

Also if you dont know anything about this please dont waste my time. and im NOT trying to be mean. I just dont like being called a moron by someone I dont know. If you agree with me on that say WOOHOO! or submit it as an answer so i dont have to ask another question.

The best mp3 player I've had so far (and I've gone through seven different ones, each of a different brand) is an iPod, strangely enough. I've had the least trouble out of it. Creative Zen is also a good brand, but usually is for people who have time to fix it whenever it has technical difficulties, and who have enough time to charge their battery a lot (or maybe I just had a really bad one that needed all that charging, and messed up so many times). I lost my entire music library several times. The sound is good on it though. There's no gaming capabilities on the Zen, but the sound is excellent, even with not-so-great headphones.

I have had the opportunity to test out the new Zune, as a friend of mine got one practically the day they were release (she's a die-hard Microsoft fan, which I find kind of strange). It's not nearly as attractive as an iPod (not at all), but if you can look past that, it's not really so bad. It probably isn't worth what you would be paying for it right now though, so if you have the time to wait, and you really want one, I would give it a while and let the price drop, like I'm sure it will soon. It has a large screen though, and it felt pretty durable (but it hasn't been dropped yet, so only time will tell how durable it really is). It mainly felt so durable I think because it was heavier and bigger than the mp3 players that I'm used to. I didn't feel like I was about to break it or anything. The battery wasn't very good, even though I only borrowed it for about three days, I noticed that.

One thing that I loved about the Zune was the fact that your music will pause if you pull the headphones out. I'm constantly pulling the headphones out of the jack by accident, so that was a nice feature (it's always a plus when you get an mp3 player that goes ahead and takes care of your bad habit). The sound is good. It gets pretty loud...

Hmm... what else... I haven't had to deal with Microsoft's music store, since the Zune wasn't mine, but the owner of the Zune has already complained about how strange it is (or maybe she wasn't complaining, only commenting). So I would check into that if I were you. You may like it, you may not.

Personally, I still love the iPod. It's got enough battery life for me. It looks nice. I haven't had any trouble at all with the software, or with the actual mp3 player doing anything strange. It's just basically good for the average consumer who doesn't mind sacrificing a small amount of sound quality in order to be worry-free with the actual use of the mp3 player.

Well I have an Ipod 30 gig and its o.k. The ipod scroll control is cool unlike the Zune's. The Ipod is about 1/4 thinner then the zune (30 gig). The Zune has a much bigger screen unlike the ipod. It also has wi-fi sharing with other Zunes (maybe useful?). The Zune cover is like its own skin protector while the Ipod is very fragile without extra cover. Zune has radio, ipod doesn't. Itunes is crap with the ipod while Zune's music library interface is o.k. Sound quality is about the same. Personally I would get the Zune because of its cover (I dont have to buy another one) and screen size, but thats me. Its hard to choose, hope you choose the right one.
