Hi I am 13 years old and I have to take the SAT in a week. I have some guides to it and I do the online thing, but I need some people who have taken it to tell me what it's like. Thank You

It's no big deal. You show up and show your admission ticket and your ID, then you take a test with a test booklet and a bubble sheet. It's very similar to other tests you have taken in school.

Plus, since you're 13, you'll have many other opportunities to take the SAT before you get into college.

Read up about it on the College Board website and you'll feel more confident.

If you have guides already and you have been looking over them, the best thing that you can do is to make sure that you have plenty of sleep the night before - it you don't you won't concentrate as well on the test.

The test has a math section - it's pretty basic stuff all the way to some calculus stuff, a reading comprehension and vocabulary section - just review the vocab lists in the study guides, and a writing section. I took the SAT twice, and I had to wirte a formal letter for both tests.

So... I would suggest going over the vocab, refreshing yourself with math equations, and looking at the different forms of essays and letters. Oh yeah - don't stay up all night the night before the test - go to bed early and get up with enough time to eat breakfast. That way you will be well rested and not hungry during the big test!

Good luck!

Well, you're 13, so there is really no pressure. Just review over your guide books everyday, but in 20-30 minute increments . Don't overwhelm yourself with information. Get pleanty of rest, eat breakfast, and go take the test with a positive attitude. The worst thing you can do is be nervous, just relax for it. The test is long, so be prepared to sit for a while. Bring your own supplies, even though they might offer it, you'll feel better having your own. Number 2 Pencils, erasers...etc. Get to the test a little early and take your time!

it takes four hours to finish. bring an id card, a pencil, an eraser, a calculator(you dont have to), and get a good sleep. you get about 25 minutes for each section and there are ten sections. i think thats it
