That would be an excellent idea, I would be a lot happier if my mother and that f***ing quack had done both to me rather than just mutilating my penis.

If you are going to make such a personal decision, about the appearance of his penis, for your son when he is born why not do the vas too. Imagine how popular he will be both "clean" and safe, the girls would be lined up for his services. Damn, just think of the nookie I could of gotten.

The way it is now I just get a sore glans from running, walking, cycling, and driving my farm equipment on rough ground. I do these activities many hours a day every day. It gets DAMN SORE. I asked my dr about it 25 years ago, he looked at it said it was normal, just clothing rubbing against it. Suggested I wear women's underwear. (not my doc any more! He's lucky to be alive, the a$$hole) They cut on your dick and tell you to wear panties. Anybody still wonder why I am pissed about circumcision?

What are the pros and cons?
Circumcision does make it easier to keep the penis clean, though washing the area under the foreskin thoroughly achieves the same result. In a 1989 study by the AAP, uncircumcised boys were found to be more likely to develop urinary tract infections, sometimes serious ones (although the risk of a UTI for any male, circumcised or no, is at most 1 percent). Other arguments in favor of circumcision include concerns that an uncircumcised child will be seen as different from his friends or will feel different from his father who may be circumcised. Arguments against circumcision include the fact that the procedure is not medically necessary. Some parents believe circumcision is a form of mutilation that's painful and emotionally harmful to a child.
I found this article on Baby Center. I chose to have my son circumcised because when he was in the hospital (He was born almost 3 months early) he kept getting UTIs, and since he HAS been circumcised he had not had any, so there ARE health benefits to having it done.

If there is any chance at all that he's going to name HIS children some of the names these other people are suggesting, then yes--he definitely should have a vasectomy at birth!!

I didn't have either of my boys circumcised, not just because there dad isn't, but because I couldn't see the needless cutting on their bodies just to make them look a certain way. There is NO medical reason to have this done as long as you take the time to teach proper hygiene.

No. The vas defrens is not developed yet. His testicles haven't even descended. I look at circumcision from a hygienic point of view. At age 4-5 I generated a large amount of smegma even with circumcision.

Circumcision is done mostly to prevent problems later in life. Uncircumcised males are more prone to infections and sexual problems. (at least that is what all my male friends have told me) In these cases you are complaining about, it seems that the pratitioners are not doctors and apparently did not use steril gloves and equipment. As a matter of fact, it is the lack of equipment that is the problem. Circumcision is not the problem here, it is the religious ritual which even your article states most people don't do anymore. That ritual should be discontinued, but the practise of circumcision doesn't neet to be. You should read the article more carefully.

i think that circumcisions and vasectomy's should not be disited by the parents but by the child when he is old enough to make that decision. it may be your religion, but how does anyone know if the child will follow that religion.

I'm not sure but why the hell would you want to do that to your poor baby. Why don't you let him decide when he grows up?

Also what's the point of getting him circumsized if you're going to make him get a vasectomy?

My friend, it's a personal choice. It's not up to you what parents choose for their children, whether us yahoo junkies agree with you or not. Don't worry about everyone else. Just take care of your own business.

Sad isn't it?! It really makes me sick when people say it is a decision of the parent, when they say its cleaner, or it looks nice. Sadly some people are so misinformed about the whole thing.
