Yep, I was at WalMart this am @ 5. I got in, got all that I wanted, but one thing, and got out. I was there not even 45 minutes, and that included parking and register lines. I have to say that it was crazier than other years, but I still had no real problems. Everyone that I encounter every year is pretty friendly and upbeat. I went over to KB Toys after that. Again, I got in , picked out the Fisher Price stuff I wanted for my daughter (B2G1free) and a few things for my step son, and got out. I was back in bed an hour and a half after I originally left the house. KB was less busy than in other years. I was in line 3 minutes.
Later on in the day I went to Target. I was very pleased there. They don't really have a "door buster" sale, the things there were on sale for two days. I got lots of DVDS for $4. March of The Penguins, Spidey2, Polar Express, etc. I got the games I wanted too, to donate to our Christmas Elf program, that gives to needy children. To my surprise, I also found an Uno game that had not been advertised on sale, for half off. I was thrilled, as it is on my daughters list!! Everyone there was very cheery. Awake, not cranky, just there for good deals. Taget wasn't actually too busy either. I think by 1 in the afternoon, the rush was over and people were home napping.
All in all, it was a good day. I am still looking for a good deal on a IPod and a notebook pc. I'll find one b4 xmas. I wasn't gonna get shoved for that stuff!

Yeah, I heard about the employee at Wal-Mart but, I had no idea that someone Was killed at Toys R Us! This is just crazy... Like you said, it's a freakin' toy shop! Who is crazy enough to shoot somebody just to buy something on sale? The sales arn't even that great. Doesn't it feel horrible to know you can't go to a freakin' toy store on Black Friday without something bad happening? I don't even go shopping on Black Friday, because most stores have the sales on Saturday! Like Lea said, it just goes to show how everything is getting worse and worse every day. We can do so many things... But the one thing we can't do is save ourselves from ourselves!

YES, of course I did, every year. It wasn’t that bad, because I didn’t get started until later in the afternoon. The stores were going to stay open late on Black Friday, so why not wait until the morning crowd dissipated? I already knew that I wouldn’t get any of “hot” items, so I didn’t even try getting up in the wee hours of the morning to camp out/line up in front of the store. I still got what I was looking for at Target even though I went so late. I got $3.98 DVD movies: “The Notebook” and “Batman Begins”. It would have been nice if I could get “Memoirs of a Geisha” too, but I’m not killing myself over it. I also went to the mall, but not until about 6:00PM, so it was pretty easy to find parking at that time. Not as many good deals as expected at the mall though. It seemed like the stores had their regular sales like they always do, nothing extra special. Despite not finding any great deals, my overall Black Friday was good because I got to go shopping!!

I would never go out on black Friday. I mean, not even driving the streets for any rteason except to get milk or something. The people that are out there are usually maniacs that are in a huge hurry to get to the next sale before the time is up. Yikes!!! Just the thought of it frightens me. In fact, I'll be doing most of my shopping online this year. I hate crowds. And maniacs.

not me - no way you you could find me in that craziness - hard to believe people get up at 4 or 5am just to catch a few bargains -
