There are not racists 'in my life', but I have been harassed before. I've been around for a while now (getting old I think!) and have traveled a lot (both in and outside of the US). So, unfortunately, I've met many different kinds of people, including racists. Also, when I was a child, my family relocated from the inner city to the suburb where I was 1 of only 6 black children in the neighborhood. I think someone must have considered the *n* word to be the proper welcome to the neighborhood because I heard it then. I also had it scrawled on my locker at school. Later when I got my license I had it spelled out in the snow that had fallen on my car. But thank goodness that for every idiot that I met, there were even more positive and open people. They were the ones who had the greater impact on my life.

i would say i know a few racists,,, and i have incountered prejudice in the work place, i am a white female, and a few years ago when i started my job, i was one of the very few ,,,while some of the people were fine, there was alot of racism,,, i would go into work sometimes, say hello, people would stop talking, look at me, then start talking to each other again,,,, i was given the hard/worse jobs/areas no one else wanted,,,,, and was critisized,,,,,,i hung in there, now at work its more diverse, but i can say i changed from a more milder person to a person who would also get right back in their faces lol one thing that helped is that i didnt work with the same people everyday, every location etc it was the first time in my life that i have expeirenced such blatant racism,,,,,, and still, its lucky for me that promotions are not important, as im sure i wont get one lol though i do get raises not based on promotion to the next level ,,,,,

yes. my 'friend' always laughs at anything that has to do with africa,( because she is white and black, so she thinks that she can get away with it)and also hatians.
why does she do this? because she is insecure and stupid. i am harrased everyday by her, and almost everyone else in my school for being who i am. i'm really tired of it, and i try to ignore the abuse!
my classmates laugh at jews, people from Zimbabwe, white people, chinese people, mexicans, gays, and very dark people

I defninitely know racists. I'm Hispanic, but light-skinned, and have had people tell me that the "Mexicans" live in the south side of the city I live in (uh, DUH, my last name is a dead giveaway--but who said racists were smart?); and I've also had my sons' teachers patronize me because they think I'm ignorant, when I have more educational background than THEY do. So, racism is alive and well.

Yes, I know a lot of racists. Surprisingly, most of them are black and racist against white people.
