Lost is still good, it's writers have just failed to remember that todays audience is simply to impatient for a good series anymore.
Transient viewers are more likely to drop off as Lost continues because like children the attention span of these folks are fleeting. It takes patience to follow a good storyline like Lost.
I wager that these are the same folks who can't read a book without pictures.

To "jump the shark" means that the show is now crap and won't last long. I don't know know if you have ever seen Fonzies stunt of jumping over a shark on "Happy Days," but that is where the term came from.
No, I don't think that Lost has "jumped the shark." Its just getting good.

I've heard this term several times now and have absolutely no idea what it means or what it refers to. Please elaborate?
I don't know why I didn't put the two together. Thank you Erica.
And to answer the question, no I don't think Lost "jumped the shark". It's finally getting some questions answered.

I quit watching after episode 2 of season 2. When It finally crashes and burns, I'll rent all the dvds and watch it commercial free.
