unfortunately yes.
look at the mes they've made of it.
yesterday, gunmen pulled out 6 men from a mosque, doused them with kerosene and set them on fire. is this the democracy the US wanted to impose on the Middle East?

Not only no win but the war will spread beyond Iraq's borders. If the Bush admin is not careful the Afghan situation could spin as far out of control as Iraq already has. More Iraqis are going to flee Iraq than ever over the coming months. The death squads (that we have armed and trained) have more control in Iraq than the U.S. forces—by far. The rest of the world knows that the civil war taking place is truly a civil war.

As somebody that was originally for going in (in a different way then it was done). I would call it a no win at this point. Bush blew it by going in soft & restricting the amount of firepower that was used.
That region has always been unstable & occupying it will not make it stable. To win a war people must die... lots of them.. including innocents. It's not what the general public wants to hear, but thats how it is.

until now, yes!the invasion was against who?because the most of the population in irak are suffering like the parents or relatives of the soldiers here.i have the experience of the panama invasion and nicaragua war, both cases i can tell you that the soldiers are not trained in some specific fields or areas and they need the help of the local people, now if you are attacking a terrorist group and because of that the civilians are dying do not expect too much help from them.(this is an urban war).

Bush's Cronies have made billions out of it. War is great for criminal profiteers
It has also greatly assisted the cause of islamic fundamentalist terrorists who will have no shortage of Iraq trained recruits to turn against the West after America pulls out.
The long term effects of the war will accelerate the decline of the USA hence assisting China to take over as World superpower

It was a wrong decision and wrong reason to begin with. With all such situations the end result is grim unless measures are taken to reconcile with those who lost loved ones, everything else.....everyone else.....How can you speak of 'WIN' under these circumstances? Win what? Pray for all those lives that have been wasted ...on both sides....
You cannot win any war that is directed against the people.....history will tell you that....

i think they are in a no win situation. they are fighting against people that don't care about dying or killing people. there never going to stop them over there in Iraq. there will always keep doing what they are now. even if we win and after we leave over there. it will start up again.

At this point, I don't know.
Sometimes, the concept of 'win' and 'loose' are not as simple as they might seem. For example, I think that a United States of Iraq w/ Kurds, Sunni's and Shite's would be a good idea. Is that a loss? I think many would consider it one.
I think that the vision we had of a new Iraq 3 years ago will not come to be. But I wouldn't call that a loss yet.

We don't seem to have any good options. If there is a winner, it will be Iran. One of their biggest regional threats is no longer viable and Iran can expand in territory and power in the region.
We inadvertantly helped them when we toppled Saddam

We lost before we started. It's just a matter of when to admit it. That's why Bush Sr. didn't go in in '91. He had enough sense to read the writing on the wall.
