When I was starting to be old enough to stay overnight at friends houses sometimes I wanted to and sometimes I didn't. My mom and I agreed that when I called home to ask:
If I start the question with "maY I sleep at Jenny's?" - she'd know I'd want to.
If I start the question with "caN I sleep at Jenny's?" - It was how I told her I didn't but could still save face in front of my peers.

Someone told me that a person should never take things for granted no matter what the circumstances are. They also told me that if a person loves power more than they love friends....then they need help.

I can't say that any one person has taught me except life's greatest lesson itself...
Don't sweat the small stuff , life is too short. Takes up too much energy to be angry or upset.

No one ever dies wishing they had worked more and played less...yes, it's common, but so true.
Also, that people tend to treat their loved ones worse than strangers. That comment has made me try harder to be nice to my kids, family, and boyfriend.
