always seek a second opinion.
but in the meantime, i'd talk to your coach about it.
missing a game or two and taking it easy will give whatever's wrong time to repair itself. also, avoid dehydration. drinking plenty of water helps the muscle repair itself more quickly. it also wouldn't hurt to take your vitamins and eat things with protein and iron in them (spinach, turnip greens, chicken, fish, pork, beef, tofu, etc.).
i do have a theory: the muscle may only hurt while you are laying down because when you lay down, it's harder for the blood to travel from the first chamber to the second chamber in your heart, as well as from the lungs to the third chamber of your heart. it's likely that a muscle controlling one or the other of those areas of your heart may be pulled. or maybe not. maybe you're just overworking yourself- stress is one of the most detrimental health hazards there is.
but again, seek a second opinion.
hope you get to feeling better soon. ^_^

definatly. i pulled one of those muscles, and i couldn't do anything. the reason it hurts when u lay down, btw, is b/c the heart is moving it when it beats, causing it to stretch and contract, as if it were being used. Cheering would agitate it ALOT, and cause u alot of pain.

Doctor. Say. No. Stunt.
Pretty simple, yes?
But if you really want to know for sure, see if your dad can get another doctor to give you a 2nd opinon.

Why did you go to the doctor if you werent willing to take his advice? Take long hot baths. This will help.
