I know, I know. It is an Italian masuline name for John. But, like so many other names...can it cross over?

Carmen was a female name but Italians use it on their males. So what's a little 'i' at the end of a name going to hurt? Although I agree with the rest, your first answerer is right on the money!

Why not???? There are heaps of boys names that are now used on girls like.......Peter, Sam, Adrian etc....I think it adds class to the name and usually always sounds really good when you call a girl...I think Giovanni would make a GREAT girls name

I like what McKim said. Giovanna. In my personal opinion, Giovanni is just too traditionally masculine to work right.

Good idea if your intention is for her to hate you when she grows
up. Yep change the I at the end to an a and it might be swallowable.

I think its beautiful. My friends neice's name is Gionna. Pretty too if you're not too sure about Giovanni. I do like it though :)

I think if you change it to GIAVANNI or GIOVANNA, then it would sound like a girls' name.
