No, it's not weird at all. Keeping a blanket with you doesn't make you childish or immature. On the contrary. The fact that you have had it since you were born means you are obviously very attatched to it. It's an item that you consider important. A lot of people (yes, adults too) have items that they keep with them all the time because they value them. Items that have been given to them from people they cherish or items that represent something for them, and that's why they value them, you know? You should talk to your mom and tell her that blanket it's just an item that is priceless to you because you are used to it and that as long as it doesn't hurt anyone if you keep it with you, you can keep it. I'm sure she must have objects that she values, too. Ask her if she does. If she says yes, then tell her your case is similar. If she says no, then ask her if she would consider it weird to be attatched emotionally to an object, whether it's a locket, a pen, a picture or a blanket. I'm sure she'll understand.

I am 25 and at 16 I stole my boyfriend at the times blanket (we are now married). I still sleep with the same stupid blanket (except when I am hospitalized for having a baby). He has had it since he was born and now it is mine. It even goes camping with me. So I say it is all good. Keep it clean and as long as you want. Or put it up in the closet and have it as a keepsake. Good luck convincing your mom you need to keep it though.

No...I'm 23 and still have my doll that I sleep with everynight...my mom made it for me and its dirty as all hell but I love my doll to death. I would run into a burning building to save that doll! I can sleep without it though...and I don't bring it with me if I'm sleeping at another person's house. My mom is the worse than me...she's in her early 40's and has an old pillow that she sleeps with, and she's so dorky that she brings it with her on vacation (I think that's a bit much).

Don't get rid of it...it doesn't make you weird. If you're more comfortable with the blankie then keep it!

As long as you can sleep ok without it at other places, then there is no problem. Perhaps instead of sleeping with it, you could hang it in your room for decoration. There is nothing wrong with wanting to keep a blanket that you have had since you were born, just don't get so attached to it that you have trouble sleeping without it.

My best friend is 14 and she still had her blanket from when she was born! She brings it to sleepovers and stuff too. This is normal. I have an elephant stuffed animal that i am the same way with. Good luck with your mom! Just be assertive(not rude but clear) with her, and let her know that it is important to you.

Well girls........I'm 56 and I still have a comforter to hold when I go to sleep,I have absolutely no idea why I have it,it just feels right,I'm not ashamed,my hubby doesn't mind and who else knows? If they did ,who cares ? I'm happy, healthy and have a great marriage but I'm sure someone ,somewhere could find some psychological reason behind it, it does what it does,COMFORT,is that a bad thing?

id say unless its tattered ,riped, dirty,or stinky no need to get rid of it:) But their will come a time when it has seen better days and must be given to the trash can.
