trying to send a file to someone that has word & we only have works. he cannot open the file & has asked that it be resent as a word file. please help!!!

If you don't have "Word," you can't resend the
the file as Word.
Tell your friend to "right click" on your "Works"
file.
Go down the menu to "open with"
then, choose "Word" and double click.

Remember you can upgrade to OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) which is much better than works and reads and writes all MS Office files including Word documents.

open the file and click save as and for the file type select the one you want

you can open works file in word. i have opened them before. i dont know why the guy said he cant.

If all of your attempts to "open with" fail. Simply copy the text from one, into notepad. Then copy that, and paste into the other. You may have to make format changes, but you don't have to retype the whole thing.
