Google the name of your city and "auditions". I bet you find something. I live near Dallas, and there is a terrific, free website that lists local auditions.

Go out and audition for as much as you can in your area but do not go to open casting calls. They are scams and you need to avoid them (no matter how appealing they sound on their radio ads, etc) Can you take some classes? That is a good way to see if it's really what you want to do.It's a very rewarding but tough career and not for everyone. Our daughter is 18 and is starting to really see how difficult it is but she loves it and is willing to put up with all of that. Examples- You have to learn how to work when you are sick, and work long hours too,and knowing that there are a ton of others out there who also want the same thing but not too many jobs or spaces in colleges for actors, ETC. Go for it though if you really want too.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Usually your local paper will list audition dates and times. Another way is to contact your local community theatres, dinner theatres and high school and get them to put you on a mailing or emailing list that will let you know about auditions. Also many groups have websites online....so you can google "Theatre" and the name of your home town. Good luck!

Show up for every one you are interested in. And don't get discouraged if you don't get the part. Go to another or try out for a different part. Remember that they always have what they are looking for in their minds before you get there, and that it's not personal. Some parts you won't be right for, and you will be exactly what they want for some, if you don't give up.
