the days of selling cd's out your trunks or paying dj's at clubs and radio stations are over. black or not the music biz is not a joke. if u think ur good then id say to try and perform at local clubs or shows and if u start getting some fan build up clubs will pay you to come back. i advise you to use your money for studio hours to try and perfect your craft then release a album sell it make profit build buzz get respect den maybe a record exec will take a look and if he likes u ur signed and now its time for u to show da world wat chu got. go get em.

You can make it as an artist of any color. You just have to have the chops to fly above the rest. Look what Jimi Hendrix did for rock or Eminem did for rap. If you make it big, I pray that you dont talk about Rims, jewelry or hoes. You stay outta those unoriginal topics than you should sail free!! Good luck. Whatever 50 Cent does, dont do!! Money doesnt make you a gifted artist.

You have to find your own style and speak your own experiences and thoughts with real truth. No BS or Socially expected banter. Be yourself and say what you feel in every aspect. If you do that, people will sense your realness and they'll bite. That's why Big and Tupac were so huge. People think them the realest.

move L.A. or Bronx...get shot 11 times.....just plain....start by performing at that talent show and then expand...by going to undergroung rap battles...get noticed... best of luck....dont' rap about stupid stuff...like sex, violence,,,etc....gets annoying...idolize COMMON...
