Hi there;

Yes, unfortunately they do feed wild horse meat to the carnivores.
Also you should be aware that wild and unwanted horses from this country are being slaughtered for their meat and sold overseas for human consumption. Even though the House of Representatives has passed a bill banning the overseas companies from slaughtering our horses, the killing goes on.

Animals that die in a zoo are generally necropsied to find the cause and then cremated. In some cases a museum or university might get the body. Most zoos have colonies of feeder animals, such as garter snakes to feed to the cobras and flies to feed the tree frogs.

Yes, some zoos do. The tigers and lions have to eat, too, you know. And the meat has to come from somewhere - it doesn't just magically appear.

Herbivores become food for carnivores. It's how things work.

No they are fed beef. The public is told they are feeding horse meat because people get more upset over feeding beef than horse meat. Actually it is a mixture of beef, bones and all the parts they need.

It has nothing to do with rescuing horses. It has to do with "All that beef going to waste" in their mind. To feed an animal.

I prefer to eat the horses myself.
But I feed the scraps to the animals at the zoo.
If you want to save a horse, jump in the lion cage...

Where I used to live (it was in the US), there wasn't anywhere to bury horses, so we took them to the zoo, and they fed them to the big cats- after they killed them, of course. In a lot of places where there is foxhunting, you can do the same thing with the kennels-- the horses are donated to the kennels, killed there, and fed to the hounds.

Horses are also raised for human consumption, and often sold in auctions.
