I really don't know much about the PS3 in that regard besides to say I know they've been having production difficulties. That could be a sign of hurried products or errors like the one's you've described related to the hardware.

Like I've told everyone, for the price and/or inconvience of getting a PS3 just buy a Wii and some games. Or heck, buy a Wii and a 360, togeather they cost about the same as the cheap PS3.

But, I'd get a Wii or a 360, then wait at least 3 months to get a PS3. By then their glitches should be worked out, they should be available and not going for thousands of dollars on eBay. The choice between the Wii and the 360 is pretty up to you. Using the Wii is pretty different from playing on a standard controler, so if that's something you'd have reservations against the Wii deffinetly isn't for you. I like the control system, myself.. but I like the GC control pads better than Dual Shocks, so take that for whatever it's worth.

The 360, in my view, isn't a great machine.. but if a Playstation like experince is what you're looking for, it's a semi-crappy PS3 that won't have the same games.

Either way, if you could have afforded a PS3, you can afford one of the other two with a bunch of games/peripherals/cocktail shrimp or whatever else you can get with the money other wise.

I'd stick with the 360 right now. Not only is the system cheaper than the PS3, the games are also less expensive for only a minimal loss of quality. And Xbox is a tried technology, they've had a year to work out the glitches, maybe next year PS3 will be a better deal but not now. Also, there are far more 360 games available and that isn't going to change anytime soon. As for the Wii, well it's a noble experiment. If the idea of the nunchuk controller excites you, go for it. If you'd rather play good, solid games without a gimmicky control avoid it.

PS3
Pro:
1. High Processing Power(good graphics)
2. Free online play
3. A few good exclusives

Con:
1. $500-$600
2. Because online play is free many 3rd party games will not support online multiplayer.
3. PS3 has lost a few 1st and 3rd party publishers and developers.
4. EA has claimed that it is harder to port games to the PS3 because of the Blu-ray technology. They stated that it will take a lot longer to port Crysis to the PS3 from the PC. So some game companies may not want to go through the hastle of porting their games over to the PS3.
5. Doesn't come with HD cables
6. Blu-ray takes up 2-4 times more space on a hard drive than regular format.
7. It will need 6 months to a year to work out all its bugs
8. If there are problems with your console, its on you.(Sony has proved in the past that they will not replace or repair reject consoles without having to pay $150-$200.
9. Can only play certain PS1 and PS2 games.

Nintendo Wii
Pro:
1. $250
2. Play old school games
3. Free online play
4. Innovative controller
5. A few good exclusives
6. Very small and compact
7. A bunch of controller accessories

Con:
1. Not very powerful(last gen graphics)
2. Because online play if free many 3rd party games will not support online multiplayer
3. Doesn't support High Definition.
4. Extra $ for controller accessories
5. Doesn't play DVD's(that I know of)
6. Will need a year to work out it's bugs

Xbox 360:
Pro:
1. Great Graphics
2. Xbox Live is better than ever
3. Super comfortable controller
4. Has gained many 1st and 3rd party publisher and developers.
5. Great games
6. Bugs have already been worked out
7. Peter Jackson(director of Lord of the Rings and King Kong) will be working exclusively with Microsoft.
8. Metal Gear Solid 4(the PS3's killer app) has been rumored to be coming to the Xbox 360.(this months issue of EGM)
9. Microsoft may be trying to by Capcom(Resident Evil, Dead Rising)
10. Great accessories
11. Can play Xbox games
12. Exclusive content for GTA IV

Con:
1. $50 dollars for Live, but is totally worth it.
2. Can't play all Xbox games, but most of the good ones are playable, and more are becoming available.
3. HD-DVD player is extra, but is one of the best looking
HD-DVD players out there.(in my opinion)

The PS3 may have slightly better graphics, but the 360 is better in almost every other way. Besides most game companies don't take advantage of the power of the systems. Just like the last-gen games, no one showed the true power of the Xbox until Ubisoft unleashed Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. The Wii is a good system and is totally worth $250, but doesn't have that many great games for anyone over the age of 13. I do suggest getting the Xbox 360 it is the superior system, and latter on when the Wii may have some games actually worth playing, buy one.

I think its kind of like the difference between Plasma and LCD. Sure the Plasmas(PS3) look better(not much better), but they also don't last as long and have a better chance of getting a picture burnt in on the screen. While the LCDs(Xbox 360) are cheaper, look great, have a less chance of burn-in, and are slightly more compact. The LCD's have more bang for your buck.
P.S. I'm not comparing characteristics of a TV and a game console, this is just an example.

I just bought an XBOX 360 today, at walmart they give u a $50 dollar gift card if u buy the premium console..pretty good deal.. anyway I really truly was determined to get a PS3 and all of a sudden decided that XBOX would be better because for one ..its cheaper.. 2 you can already buy used games that are only 2 weeks old to begin with, and it is fairly equal in power and everything to the PS3.. now the Wii is just a truly strange creature in the gaming world, a gamestop worker told me that after playing Wii for a little while and getting up in the morning his arm was actually sore.. so if you like to "get into the game" Wii could be for you, but I believe it is mainly for younger kids, I'm 15 by the way and have been comparing xbox 360 and PS3 for weeks now

The PS3 performs finished 1080p hi-definition wheras the Xbox only upscales the image. the internet gaming is loose for the PS3 so over 5 years it extremely is £two hundred/$270 saved while in comparison with Xbox stay. in case you like on line play there is Warhawk and Unreal experience 3 is popping out. additionally the psnetwork has Little huge Planet and abode coming to it. Blu-ray discs propose that extra might nicely be saved on PS3 video games allowing them to be bigger. An Xbox DVD holds approximately 8GB yet a single layer Blu-ray disc holds 25GB and a twin layer holds 50GB yet a 360 interest fees the comparable as a PS3 interest. The PS3 is an exceedingly much cheap Blu-ray participant at the same time as you should purchase a £a hundred and twenty/$two hundred upload-directly to play HD-DVD video clips. The PS3 has been out a twelve months below the 360 and it extremely is snap shots are already equalling or enhancing those on the 360. because of the fact the builders substitute into extra suitable at bobbing up video games for the PS3 the hollow will only widen. as far as video games circulate countless the extra suitable video games for the Xbox are the two multi-platform or going to return out for the laptop faster or later like Gears of conflict and Halo a million & 2 already have. The PS3 has Uncharted, Killzone 2, Haze, MGS4, very final fantasy XIII, Ratchet and Clank, and God of conflict 3. finally the PS3 has plenty extra suitable hardware than the Xbox which has great 30% failure value. The Xbox's strengths are that it extremely is extra reasonably-priced (yet i do no longer think of it extremely is interior the long-term) and Xbox stay is probable extra suitable (yet you should pay). in case you're specially an off-the-cuff gamer or non-gamer and prefer having non-gamer acquaintances around the Wii is the main astounding decision for you. The Wii has some stable video games like Zelda Twilight Princess yet countless others are only mini-interest compilations. i think of you're own decision for the video games on each and each gadget could be what you base your determination on yet i could choose for a PS3.

This is all personal preference really. I'm a Playstation guy so I'd chose the PS3. THe netendo revolution (Wii) is more for fun and casual gaming. The 360 is already tried and tested technology so there's nothing new there. If you want the fastest thing available get the PS3. If you want fun and something that, and don't quote me on this since I've never played it, the wii seems to be more for kids. THe 360 has good graphics and stuff, but it's not cool with the ltest stuff, although the 360 has a HD DVD add on that gives HD DVD disk capability which is cool. BLU-RAY will win I hope though. ANyway, My ranks are

PlayStation 3
XBOX 360
Wii

In the end though you just have to play them at the store or something.

I want the PS3 wayyy better graphics then Wii and a tad bit better than the 360. But the wii is much cheaper and doesnt have many glitches. the ps3 does have some like it doesnt play some ps2 games but hopefully thoughs are fixed. So if you want a game with better graphics and just a better gaming experience get the PS3. If you play with family and friends or like to get up and moving the Wii. If you cant choose either go with the xbox 360 in between both price rangesand has a wide variety of games.

Listen to me. What good are good graphics like xbox 360s or PS3 when you get bored of the games in like a few days. I've never had a game on 360 that I didn't get bored of after awhile. But the Wii has a different style of gameplay that (to me) will never get old. Also I've had to send in my xbox about 3 times and then I got tired of it and sold it for a Wii which I have played for over 48 hours already in the past 5 days. And not only is it so simple that my 5 year old sister can play but it reaches out to the hard core gamers and casual gamers alike. My answer is if your looking for a good system that goes beyond the old style of gaming get a Wii...ROCK ON!!!

Well I'm a big fan of the xbox and the xbox 360. Everything I've read endorses the 360 as being high quality and the online componet is fantastic in comparison. Also the 360 is cheaper and has a huge number of games currently availble. Also thats where Gears of War and Halo 3 will be found and unless you want Final Fantasy i dont think PS3 has any games that xbox doesn't

The wii is the obvious choice especially if you're low on cash and have a big gaming family it's also a fun system to play with but if you are some kinda a graphic nerd or anything go for the ps3 but i would pick the wii on any day because Nintendo know how to make some fun games and that's what video games are all about: to entertain and and have fun though the of two companies have more game titles 85% of the games are S H I T T Y
