This may sound totally off the wall, and not the answer you would expect. I was for sure an ugly duckling for quite a while, but matured into something a little better. Though I was still very self conscious about my looks. I'd get compliments every now and then, but didn't really believe people. I went out on a limb and did a favor for a friend by listening to the Mary Kay marketing plan. I told my friend there was NO way I'd ever do it, but I'd listen anyway. One of the "perks" of being a consultant was all the self-confidence I would gain. I kind of thought, "yeah, whatever!", but it still stuck in the back of my mind. SO, 4 1/2 years later, I'm a Mary Kay Sales Director. I can stand up in front of a group and teach a skin care class without dying of embarrassment. I can even talk in front of a somewhat big group without melting!!!! It really did work and I've gained a lot of very positive friends and even earned a some extra money in the process! I'd be really happy to share a little additional information....there's NEVER any obligation!!! Please feel free to contact me via email anytime!

For starters, it's good that you admitted it!
First of all, look around you. You are not alone. So, don't have problems talking to adults, friends, or others. Most likely, they are/did have the same problem. If you feel that you cannot trust someone with that amount of information, write in a journal daily.
Pick up a hobbie, talent or anything else you can find. Study hard for hard tests, or buy a really beautiful outfit you have been looking at for weeks. Go out and do something insane, like bungee jumping. Accomplish something you never thought you could have. Believe or not, those small things help someone out.
Through all the this, the key is to fake confidence. Soon enough, your confidence should soar. And, if things don't work out that well, seek professional help.

properly the element is my pal... you want to enable it out in case you had Emotional damage than (reckoning on what kind of damage it really is say Anger or disappointment) then play a sport or pay interest to music that suits your mood. as an get mutually watch a Violent movie once you've anger in you're unhappy watch a comedy to cheer you up Play a sport like Hellentry to enable your ability out on the enemy or play the sims to play round...pay interest to heavy metallic...or Techno.. Gaining Confedince is problematical.... yet fixing Emotional damage is somthing else i dont imagine Confedince is what you want

Being confident is being yourself.
Well, that's the first step being outgoing. Just continue with it. By the way, think always of yourself as someone pretty. Don't underestimate your self.
Think positive! ;)

Do something that will scare you half to death. Audition for a play (and if they like you, actually commit to performing), try out for a modeling competition, or cheerleading--anything. You build confidence when you push yourself to do the things that seem hardest---and you actually suceed. Good Luck! And really, go for it girl!!!!

For all the negative things you think about yourself, make yourself think of two positive things. For example:
"Ugh, my stomach is so flabby."
"I've got a nice smile and really bright, vibrant eyes."
This worked for me, and after a while you will start to notice the positive. =]

Look in the mirror, and pick out your best qualities, now tell yourself what they are every day. You know they are there, you like them, you just don't tell yourself what they are everyday.

What you look like isn't who you are and once you realize that you won't have any confidence issues regarding your looks.
