I'm from Canada and can tell you that marrying more than one person (polygamy) is illegal in the eyes of the Canadian Law under Charter Section 293 of the Criminal Code. There is however a Fundamentalist Mormon community of 1,000 people in Bountiful, in south-eastern British Columbia who have been practicing polygamy for the last 60 years. The RCMP is investigating this community on allegations of child abuse and sexual exploitation. As of January of this year, no charges have been laid.

At the present time it is illegal, but it will be agrued soon, that any religion that allows more than one wife will eventually get it, cause of religious freedoms here have allowed daggers in schools, and rights like gay marriage, and to refuse a womans right to marry a man even though both man and woman agree to this based on religious values even. It may or will most likely happen one day. I am amazed the mormons here haven't tried yet.

no you can not have two wifes/husbands the same time. You need prove that you are not married before you get married again, and for some reason you get away with it, your not really married to the second person, your first marriage is the only one that you are lawfully married to.

I think it is illegal but you can just have the religious wedding only. According to law the second wife will not be your lawful wife.

Don't do it. You will be torn to piece by their fighting

It is illegal and immoral in all parts of Canada, so take your polygamy wanting *** out of our country, go send your twisted values somewhere else, you are not wanted here!
