Think of the people who have jobs because of that.

I felt like you the past couple years but I decided this year that I am going to enjoy the season...commercial or not. I am not going to let the athiests have a field day taking another chunk of the Christmas season away from me. I have a constitutional right to enjoy this holiday as I see fit and they do NOT have the right to take it away from me another year.

My plea to all of the Christians on Yahoo answers is to put out your Nativity scene this year and your Christmas tree. Don't let these creeps take away the holiday because they feel we are nut jobs or crazies. Just remember, they might hate us but they LOVE our Christmas holiday!

I loved it when I was a kid but seeing all these people rushing around buying things for people and most probably wont even like what they get. Then walk into a store and Isles full of all the crazy decorations giant inflatable dancing Santas and snowmen seems kind of tacky. I do like a tastefully decorated houses with lights but too much is ugly.

Yes, especially when companies try to extend Christmas before Thanksgiving (I worked for a department store which put Christmas decorations up before Halloween). It's repulsive. I refuse to do anything Christmas before Thanksgiving, and that has gradually dwindled. The over-commercialization of Christmas has turned me against wanting to celebrate it at all.

Totally agree mate...its just another commercial opportunity on the annual calender for all the materialistic people to spend spend spend and get into debt. The idea of a religious celebration is long gone. Its just a spend-a-thon like all the other holidays.

Puleeeze! This comment about the commercialization of Christmas has been going on for at least a century. Do you have any good questions or comments? We can't solve this one ( too many complications).

I think it's kind of amusing, only because the same parents who attempt to shove religion down their children's throats get to see exactly how well that worked when those same kids think of Christmas as all about what presents they get.

i don't think it's disgusted, but i totally get what you're feeling. it's tiring to see the hype five seconds after thanksgiving is over. soon there will be an overlap of thanksgiving and christmas. maybe one day they'll have jesus on tv commercials. would you really be surprised?

It's totally disgusting. Gifts are fine but they should be thoughtful and creative, not just a bunch Playstations and other electronics.

The commercialization is there, but I still enjoy the holiday.

I am even sick of the idea of presents for Christmas
That is just lame lol. Christmas is the birth of Jesus
I was an Easten Rite Catholic, but now because of the disgrace to Christianity, I became atheist.
