The pink stuff is called mildew. Mildew is a fungus. The fungus is all around us in the air. It lands on the sink and the tub, and grows there because it does well in areas that are moist. Over time, the mildew will build up. It's unsightly at least, and it could possibly make you sick if you have a lot of it. You can clean it with any kind of bleaching cleaner, such as Comet or Tilex.

That's algae, mold, and mildew. And you don't want that stuff in your sink, or on you.
Clean your sink and tub. And to make it easy to keep that way, try keeping a spray bottle of cleaner (I use diluted Lysol) in your bathroom, and take a cleaning cloth with you in the mornings. And spray your bathroom down and wipe everything when your done.
Voila! No more pink stuff!

The pink stuff is Bacteria, Mold, Slime , and Scum! That kind of bacteria can give you Athlete's Foot. Keep Comet or Ajax powder next to the sink and tub for a healthier You!

That is mold and scum. THey make an automatic tub and shower cleaner (as its obvious you dont do this as a matter of course) but you will have to train yourself to clean the sink with a anti mold , mildew cleaner such as comet, tilex, etc.

pink stuff= Staph-y-lo-coc-cus. This can only be killed by using orginal bleach ( no fu-fu- meadow flower bleach) You also might wanna look into getting a scrubbing bubble shower thing that sprays your shower w/ cleaners everytime you use it. I know it works i've seen it first hand!

I was told it was a reaction between the soap (phosphates) and the chlorine in the water?? It does come off with a good scrub...

That is iron from the water pipes in town, or your pipes if you have a well. There is plenty of iron in water. But most cities take steps to alleviate the problem. Perhaps your city has older pipes (our city has ductile iron which doesn't help).
