It controls the body roll in turns.What happened to it?Did you hook a chain to it ?

Usually the sway bar link is a small rod with bushings on the end that connects the sway bar to the truck. I don't think they would be difficult to replace as long as you have the truck wheels in a position that is not putting pressure on the sway bar end that you are changing.

The sway bar transfers torque from one wheel to the other side .The link kit is simply long bolts with washers and rubber grommets fairly easy to replace. its best to do both sides at once just make sure you get both sides in place before tighten either one up
