At first he claimed that it was because Kennedy was pro-Israel, and he was afraid that Israel would be assisted to an even greater degree if RFK became president. Several diaries were found voicing his feelings of betrayal that he began writing in after the 6 Day War in 1967.
Later Sirhan said that "voices in the mirror" told him to do it, and that he had been brainwashed. He was originally sentenced to death, but his sentence was commuted when the death penalty was abolished. He has continually used the brainwashed/insanity defense to try and get released on parole, but it ain't never gonna happen.

Several orgs had reasons to want him dead, the cia, fbi, mafia, the teamsters, and the list is long. Bobby was a threat to the established world and was electable

Sirhan Sirhan (that was his name)....not sure why--maybe he wanted to be "famous". What a creep to do that!...I watched a bio on PBS about Bobby Kennedy and it was very touching.
