well, depending on your income bracket, i think it can be up to 32%
But that's ignoring all embedded taxes, social security, the taxes your employer pays, sales taxes and everything else....
the total amount is probably somewhere above 50% but the tax codes are so convoluted that its probably impossible to figure out.

Taxes are "demonized" because the money is taken from you by force at gunpoint (if you don't believe that try not paying taxes for a couple years) and it is wasted by politicians and bureaucrats

You are correct. They steal about 20% of it and the rest is legitimate. So about 15% of it is legitimate. Altogether Federal taxes total between 33 and 35 percent.

Approximately 25%. But it's not the government stealing it. It goes to the I.R.S., which is not a government agency. It's a collection agency for the Federal Reverse, which is not a government agency either. They are private European banks, that print our money for nothing and there chicks for free.

Steal? As a childless person, part of my local, state, and Federal taxes went to pay for your education. I expect you to ask smarter questions than that, and I expect you to pay the government back when you are employed!

My bad, no one can accuse you of being educated. Where you home schooled?

Depending upon how many dependants you claim when you fill out the paper work upon being hired. I know that if you file Single and zero. the gov't takes 20% of what ever you make in taxes.

steal from you? you mean pay in taxes?

why are taxes so demonized by some conservatives?

I went to school... drive on the roads... I even support some social programs that are used to help people...

nothing is free... thinking a country can be great with no taxes is beyond naive...

if you don't like it... and don't want to support America... move...

We have to pay taxes so the liberals can support all their programs to keep people uneducated and on welfare so they have a voting base.
