i live in london and in the past when i've met people from abroad they ask what is the population of the capital city - mostly they seem to know theirs - but without doing a check now - off the top of your head what would you guess to be the population of the city where you live? and do you really care?

Hi suki doo (Mmmm, nice name!) . Officially ,London's population stands at a whopping 7.2 million people. However, there are a lot of people unaccounted for, namely illegal immigrants. Therefore it is believed to be in excess of 8 million. With the current trend in migration , it is believed that by 2020, London will be the most populated city on Earth. Hope this answers your question.

I don't live in a city; the nearest city probably has around 18,000 to 20,000. And yes, I care.
