got to be Batman because unlike superman spiderman or any of the xmen which everyone else has mentioned, batman has no superpowers at all none whatsoever. now lets explore what i mean with that, first of all batman is a ordinary human being with the exceptions that many pyhcologists would say he has multiple or split personality disorder, but in fact batmans uses bruce wayne as his alternate identity not the otherway around if batman could get away with it then bruce wayne would be a recluse. batman also took many many many years to develop his prowess in combat forensics acrobatics strength training and conditioning, acting business meditation and many many more disciplines that i do not mention here, he is the one human man that has pushed himself and continually pushes himself to the limit and has assimilated so much knowledge that its not even funny hell i would say that batman has forgot more about being a detective and crimefighter then most will ever learn, also the fact that batman still has faith in justice and truth and the american way, batman should never be thought of as a lesser superhero because he doesnt have any powers he should be thought of as the one that shows that one man can make a difference without having powers or special abilities. and whoever said spiderman is just way off when spider man has always been a punk of a superhero in my book yeah hes smart and maybe as smart as batman but the way he acts talks and has to be a celebrity is all signs of being a punk

What's with all this Superman crap?! He was an alien! Not even human.
I think the coolest superhero would have to be Kyp Durron. (He's a Jedi. Look him up for more info, he's way cool. From the books set after the movies - he goes to Luke Skywalker's school to learn to be a Jedi, decides it's not good enough for him, and turns to the Dark Side... steals a Death Star, blows up a bunch of planets, then goes "WHOOPS, MY BAD" and becomes a Jedi again.
Way cool.)

would have to be superman - if our world came to an end, he could just fly through space and live on another planet. He apparently can breathe in outerspace (or so everything seems to show him doing it). Not sure why he would want to live on another planet all by himself though. Although, he is proof that there is intelligent life out there beyond the earth. Maybe he could find them and assimilate into the collective.

the 5 saints from Saint Seiya, meaning Cygnus, Phoenix, Dragon, Pegasus and Andromeda, in that order! They're human, and they fight to save humanity even if the rest of the world doesn't realize they're doing it. O, and the gold saints get an honorable mention, because they fight for what they believe to be true, yet not all of them are blinded by their convictions and are willing to keep an open mind.

Superman. He's the one the word "superhero" was coined for, he was the first superhero, and he's the baddest and strongest and toughest of the bunch.

Batman. I say this because he has every reason in the world to be a bad guy, but he still does the "right thing".
