I really don't know why Zack and Cody live there, but it is weird that they live in a hotel! I believe it is just the humor part of the show. Makes it weird and funny to have two twins living in a hotel and causing trouble.

They live in the hotel with their mom cause that is where she works and its easier. I am sure the thing they want you fill in is why...My guess would be is she gets a discount to live in a suite like an apartment since she works there and is friends with the owners daughter. Also this way she will never not be at work cause of weather. hee hee

The family can't get money and if the mom sing at the hotel then they live for free not for room service.

if they lived in an apartment, some old lady would want them to give her a sponge bath,

Cus they're mom take caare of them by herself and I guess they dont have that much money. Also their mom sings in the ball room whatever its called like veryday so I guess they need her there.
