if you still have a cd in it the hole you described is for a small pointey object like a saftey pin of an opened up paper clip. Just shove it in there and the cd will pop open.

A common problem with almost all samsung and lg drive I have the same problem. In my case if there is no disk in the drive I have to push the eject button for about five to six time in some time interbal of say 10 sec and it works :P anyways there is a hole below the place where you put your disk you can eject out by putting a pin in it. Since the pin method is not working u can manually remove the cover and eject the drive. Before that try my method which was discussed above. Anyways always keep a disk in your drive to avoid such situation :) this is what i do :D

do you use a mac or p.c.?
either way -
shut down the system and restart
If the door still will not open you probably will need to open up your computer and disconnect the power to the drive -
gently pry open the drive door and check for obstructions
If it is an obstruction it probably had a cd/dvd it it for a really long time and they get hot and spin at very high RPMs and tend to bust the CD/DVD into pieces.
and last the drive is getting old - replace it
if you have a mac go to - macsales.com and they have agreat DVD burner for $30
hope this was some help
cheers

Right click over the CD ROM drive in my computer and click the eject button. If worse comes then take a pair of needle nose plyers and pull it open. Take it easy

Use an xacto knife along the edge and pry it open a little. Then you should be able to grab it and gently pull it fully open.

Have you opened "My Computer" right clicked on the drives icon and left clicked on the eject line?

Restart your computer. When it starts back up then hit the little button and your disc drive should open up.
