i was buying a camisole for my girlfriend and it said it was made with a "built in shelf bra''. what does that mean?

It means just that. The item comes with an extra piece of elastic fabric that offers support in a form of a bra.

it means it has a bra already in it. look inside it and there should be an extra piece of fabric with a little strip of spandex...if she is well-endowed, she might need better support though, but otherwise, she wont need to wear a bra...hope i helped! ur g/f is very lucky to have such a thoughtful guy.

There's a band of elastic right under the boob part, they make it so girls don't need to wear a bra with the cami and have those straps showing.

it means a bra is built inside the shirt and she doennt have to wear a bra, because the shirt already has a bra built inside.
