Well what are you doing to for your hamster so he can have fun although it is a nice thing that you are concerned. Go to a petshop like PETSMART,PETCO where they sell hamsters and look at the hamster houses esp to see what kind of toys and playthings that are provided for the hamsters Also check out www.ehow.com for it is a site that tells in detail how to get two hamsters to live in the same cage for a hamster that has a friend to play,snuggle up to will be a much happier one than one who is always alone. If you can get your hamster a friend get a Hamster the same as yours if a boy get another boy and if female get another female--to put a girl and boy together will have many babie which you do not need.You can also get your hamster(even when you have 2 they will still have to have things to do and to exercise and have fun-like you riding a bike or swimming. You can get a small animal wheel fo when I go to Petsmart watch the animals(fun to do) and they get on and off and seem to love doing it, theres also tunnels that they run through and even sleep in. You can put several of the tubes together and make interesting tunnels. The bottom of the cages also have wood shavings as litter but they also like to burrow into it. Also wood blocks from the petstore for they need to chew to keep their teth from growing too long. First of all make sure the cage you have is large enough so when putting these things in it will not be cramped-if so first invest in a larger home for the hamster needs space to run around in.If you decide (I hope you will) to have 2 youll need a new home twice as big as you would have for one. Cramped hamsters are not happy hamsters. Besides his regular food get treats and give him the treats but do not overdo for hamsters should not get fat-gives them heart trouble I now have 2 rabbits and although the first rabbit was happy but when I got the second rabbit was much happier for they snuggle together,groom each other and run playing chase and have such fun together and healthier for getting much more exercise-one tends to lie around a lot.Hamsters do not normally live alone but in groups and since hamsters are not expensive you'd be doing a wonderful thing to get your hamster a little buddy.

get him some chew toys and an exercise wheel. OR you can get on of those fancy cages that have hamster tubes to attach. There are different sized cages and the smallest one is about 25 bucks at Petco.

Play with it. Pet it. Take it out and let it run in a plastic ball. Cut up a paper towel roll and put it in the cage for it to play with.

Make sure that they start to have fun!!! Like start to buy them toys or more of them like a tunnel for them to run through.
