From my experience, most all guys lie about their height. I am, barefoot, 5' 10 1/2" and most people consider me taller than average. I usually am one of the taller guys in any group photo, and when I was checking ID's years ago, I usually was taller than most guys, many of whom said they were 6 ft or even taller.. I'd say the average is more like 5' 8" barefoot, maybe with shoes the average guy might be 5' 10" at the most. I've seen even tall guys lie about their height, not sure why they do it.
