Gay MARRIAGE Yes!

Neither good nor bad!

Marriage is just marriage, and it isn't good or bad as an institution in itself, but only insomuch as it is good for the people involved.

Now, if you're asking whether I think it should exist, then yes, definitely. We all deserve the right to share our lives with whomever we choose, and calling it 'civil union' is a second-class term that we threw out in Brown versus Board of Education- separate but equal is a sham.

And as to the person who said that calling it marriage would be ridiculous, because we could call gravity something else but it would still be there- that's a fallacious argument. Gravity is a physical fact; marriage is a social construction. They are different; you can't change gravity, you certainly can change social constructions!

My husband and I find it suits us, so we agree: GOOD! For all those who think it's an oxymoron or that same-sex marriages don't exist - get with the times. Same-sex marriages are legal in several countries and in Massachusetts in the U.S. They do exist. Further, for those who think it is an abomination unto God, I can only say that we were married in a chapel by an ordained minister. No ill has come of it; in fact, it has greatly enriched our lives. Some might consider it a blessing!

You can't say good or bad. Gay Marriage is like saying Santa Claus. Neither exist. There is Gay Unions which are abhorrible and if you do any research you will see they are the minority with a very LOUD voice. Marriage is defined for all eternity as One MAN plus One WOMAN

I see the "haters" are out tonight!
what could possibly be wrong with 2 consenting, unrelated adults who love each other and are in a committed relationship getting married? it shouldn't matter what gender, race, religion or culture you are. love is love...live and let live!

Impossible. It is a contradiction in terms. It contradicts the definition of "marriage". Of course, the state can change its definition, but that won't change the reality. The state can declare that gravity no longer exists, but that won't make things float away. The state can also "allow" homosexuals to "marry", or "allow" cows to fly. But cows are not really going to fly, and homosexuals are not really going to be married. So why go through the motions?
