My boyfriend and I are have a debate:
At what age is a jewish boy circumsised? I say a few weeks/months after birth, and he says at 12. Who's right?

Neither of you guys are right.
8 days is the traditional age of circumcision.
The date of the process, at the 8th day to the birth of the male child, is so important that the Halacha (complex of religious laws in Judaism) says that it has to be done even during the Shabbath and Yom Kippur (dates on which almost any special action is forbidden). Nevertheless, if the circumcision can somehow harm the baby at the 8th day to his life, it is allowed to delay it.

Circumcision is done soon after a baby boy's birth. At age 12 the child has a Bar Mitzvah (religious ceremony) which confirms him as an adult member of the temple. A girl has a Bat Mitzvah.

Boys are circumcised eight days after birth. I can't remember the bible verse that commands it. The ceremony is a Brit Milah.
Your b f is thinking of a Bar Mitzvah.

Both of you are wrong.
The circumcision takes place on the 8th day of the baby's life. Due to medical reasons it can be (actually must be) delayed to later until the condition goes away.
