Another area dialect question.... I have noticed that the knitted hats people wear in the winter are called different things in different areas.

In southern Ohio people call them tobogans ( I know this is a sled)
in other areas its just a hat

where are you and what do you call it?

I'm from the bay area we call them beanie's.

In Canada they are generally called Tooks pronounced TwoK's Sometimes they are called skullcaps but Tooks is more well known.

I call it a hat. . .but I've heard it referred to as a touque.
